México DF

Summer 2010

A few of my classmates and I took a summer course in Mexico City.  We lived in Condesa and trekked around the DF for a month.  It's a megacity, situated in the Valley of Mexico, founded in 1325 by the Aztecs.

Architecture,

where is where and who is who?

Above are two examples from an ethno-photography project completed in the spring semester of 2002.  The photographs are digitized versions of actual photographs developed/enlarged in a darkroom.  The project focused on juxtapositions between homes and houses in Charlottesville, Va, that were on two different streets, one block apart.

Not to Scale

Not to Scale

This is my final submission for Visual Studies I in the first semester of my Master of Architecture program, Fall 2009, at PennDesign.

It is a raw collage of clips, animations, and architecture from University City and the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

The soundtrack was created by myself in Reason and employed the use of a 12 tone matrix and rule set to trigger sound samples. My critic was Simon Kim.
